The natural environment, field of pure creation, is an open-air museum.
Elements, in symbiosis, combining their forces, liven up the space, in an unceasing metamorphosis, to manifest the present moment, subject to impermanence.
Photography has the potential to capture what the human eye can’t see, to suspend the moment, and keep a trace of the ephemeral.
I’m Marie, an artist living in Mauritius.
I create pictures depicting the natural environment.
Water is the essential element from which my production stems.
Working with light, playing with textures and exploiting different plans allow to bring out this system of interactions between vegetal and mineral worlds and forces involved.
Relying on motion, colours, shadows, generated by the flow of vibrations, my approach consists in revealing space in its graphic dimension.
Highlighting this connection with arts was a consequence of the unique qualities of this fluid medium.
This is the proposal of a poetic vision of exalted nature.
Water, between sky and earth, resonating with the present, echoes the world that surrounds it.
It is a crossing place, a space of change, a field of repercussions.
It absorbs, carries, underlines, reflects, conceals, transforms.
It captures and diffuses.
Its surface is mirror, screen, support.
Light, colours, shapes, movement permeate it, imprint themselves.
The wave propagates and multiplies.
Modulating its frequency, it molds the material for a pictorial rendering, in the expression of time.
Vegetation emerges, stands up, flexible.
Its shadows undulate beneath the continuous swaying.
The water pours its stream of writings.
A multitude of graphic signs sweep like so many subliminal messages.

Born in the region of Paris, I came to photography in my early teens, when images were still captured entirely on film.
After studies that sharpened my eye, and with the emergence of digital technologies, I pursued a career in graphic design and, more recently, as a freelance trainer in creative software.
The need to escape and discover new horizons, fueled by an attraction to foreign cultures and a voracious eye to satisfy led me to travel. Throughout these journeys, my camera has been a steadfast companion, recording moments as in a personal diary.
Coming from an urban culture, before turning thirty, I made a major change for a life closer to nature.
Water has the particularity of reflecting this delightful energy. It is a constant since childhood. The places where I have lived, an experience in the perfume industry, and finally this photographic work, where the connection has become crystal clear.
